The CCUA acts as a focal point for communication between its members, the Ministry of Justice and HM Courts & Tribunals Service.
Regional meetings across the country (North, Central, South East and South West), frequently attended by senior local officers from HMCTS, allow members to share experiences and feedback concerns to the central office. Because the CCUA’s national council liaises closely with the HMCTS, we are able to convey the concerns that may arise from regional meetings to HMCTS, where it matters.
There are two main annual events- the Annual CCUA conference, which provides an impressive forum for debate and evaluation. This event provides all our members with the unique opportunity to network directly with senior MoJ and HMCTS Officials. Both the conference and gala dinner are traditionally attended by high profile speakers. The CCUA AGM is held the following day.
The second of these two annual events is the House of Lords’ Dinner. This exceptional occasion, hosted by two Peers of the Realm, gives members the unique opportunity of being invited to a special dinner engagement at the House of Lords, when normally a senior member of Government or of the Judiciary will be the guest speaker.
Most CCUA events, including regional meetings and our annual conference, are CPD accredited by the Law Society and CILEX.
